5-Day-Itinerary: Explore Toronto
Toronto is another major Canadian city in Ontario, the fourth largest city in all of North America to be exact. It’s filled with soaring skyscrapers, iconic sights and is home to the famous CN Tower. With no shortage of things to see and do, I made a 5-Day-Itinerary to help you Explore Toronto with ease.
Day 1
Arrive at Toronto Pearson Internation airport and Uber/Lyft to your hotel:
An Uber/LYFT from the airport to downtown Toronto costs about $35/CAD and takes anywhere from 25-45 min depending on traffic.
Check into your hotel:
The first night we checked into our hotel at the Toronto Marriott City Centre (this was a sponsored stay) which is connected to Roger’s Area, home of the Blue Jay’s. The location is perfectly situated right downtown next to the CN tower and close to a large variety of bars and restaurants on Dundas and King st. There is also a Starbucks and Sportsgrill in the lobby if you don’t want to go far and just enjoy the room.
Grab yourself a drink:
After a day of travelling, what is better than finding an amazing bar to get a cocktail at. For us Mexican fans, we knew we had to check out the famous El Ray Mezcal Bar which I 1000% recommend checking out. This is situated in the Kensington Market area, but we walked 25 minutes as we were able to check out other sights, like Chinatown, on our way.
Enjoy your room and rest:
After dinner and drinks, we just wanted to head back and enjoy our beautiful room as this bathtub was like a private hot tub! #bathroomgoals
Day 2
Brunch (if it’s the weekend)/Snack (if it’s midweek) at Burdock Brewery:
Located on Bloor Street, a cute neighbourhood with some really cool cocktail bars is Burdock Brewery. We visited this place multiple times as it’s one of the best assortment of beers I’ve ever had and the food and snacks AND brunch is incredible.
Check into an Airbnb:
We wanted to stay at a variety of locations so we could explore different parts of the city. We checked into an Airbnb with some friends in the Little Portugal / Trinity Bellwoods Neighbourhood.
Explore the Little Portugal and Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood. We went to a variety of different places that night near Dufferin St. and Bloor St.
Day 3
Breakfast at Egg’s Sunrise Grill:
Located on Dundas street is this cozy little breakfast spot that is super filling and easy on your wallet! We didn’t even need lunch after our breakfast. If you are on a budget and are staying around the area, I highly recommend it.
Head over to Kensington Market in the Afternoon:
There are so many amazing little vintage shops and thrift stores, coffee shops and restaurants to try out. Plus it’s just a great spot for photos.
Queen St:
Head over to the famous Queen Street for a snack or drink. We checked out the Horseshoe Tavern which is a fun grunge pub if that is your type of scene. But there is no shortage of places to checkout on Queen St.
The Drake Hotel in the Evening:
There is SO much to do within the Drake Hotel. We were visiting friends while in Toronto, so we decided on the Drake hotel for drinks as they are great with big crowds. There is live music and dancing on the weekends. It’s just a super fun time.
Day 4
Check into the Chelsea Hotel Downtown Toronto:
Chelsea Hotel happens to be the largest hotel in Canada. Although we didn’t have our kids with us this trip, we definitely would go back as it is super family-friendly (super fun indoor pool with slides – so much fun for kids).
Not only that but you can’t beat the location. Located right next to Younge street which is one of the longest streets in the world according to Guinness World Records.

Another thing to note is they have this awesome partnership with attractions through the “Show Your Key and Save” program which you can read more about here.
Walk Younge Street:
Being as you are located right next to this famous long street, go for a stroll and see the sights.
CN Tower for an amazing Dinner Experience:
I highly recommend if you’ve never been to Toronto and want to see it in a unique way, 350 meters from above ground, that you have dinner at the 360-degree revolving CN tower restaurant. We happened to catch dinner at sunset and it was breathtaking.
The food, the wine, the desert, coupled with the views I give an easy 10/10! You also get complimentary access to the Observation level after your meal if you spend a minimum of $70/pp.
Day 5
Get breakfast at the Market Garden within the Hotel:
Take a walk through Financial District and see the sights on your way to Distillery District:
Distillery District is a must-see if you are in Toronto. It’s a pedestrian-only historic cobblestoned little section of Toronto. It makes you feel like you are away in Europe somewhere. The streets are packed with Art galleries, apothecary stores, breweries, coffee shops, sculptures and SO much more!
Check into Airport Hotel:
We decided at the end of the evening to head to the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre (which was a sponsored stay), and enjoy our room before heading home the next day.
This hotel is perfect for staying near the airport if you have an early flight. With its complimentary airport shuttle that runs every 30 mins, to the views of watching the planes come and go from your hotel room, you are well taken care of. Pour yourself a glass of wine and relax.
For your convenience, there is also a restaurant in the lobby and an amazing indoor heated pool where you can also see the planes from the dome ceiling.
That’s all we could pack into our 5 full days in Toronto in and amongst seeing friends. There are definitely TONS to do in this big city so I think we will have to go back to finish our list, but I’ll save those suggestions for another time.
