Family Getaway To The Lodge On Harrison Lake

As a family of four, we are always looking for some really great family escapes.  Something that offers a little bit of something for everyone.  Relaxation, fun, nature, food etc… Thankfully the Lodge on Harrison Lake offers all of this.

The Lodge On Harrison Lake offers Beautiful Waterfront Accommodations

Nestled just 1 minute from the beautiful little town of Harrison Hot Springs, is the Lodge.  Each suite offers beautiful waterfront accommodations to give you the most breathtaking views.  Whether you are looking for a family getaway or perhaps a couples retreat, even something like a team-building retreat, they have you covered with a variety of suites to suit your needs.  Check availability here.

As a family, we stayed in the Carriage House which gave us ample room to move around freely as a family of four.  Two beautiful big bedrooms and a gorgeous modern kitchen for cooking in.

The Lodge Grounds

Around the Lodge Grounds, there truly isn’t a shortage of what you can do.  There is a common BBQ area, a private beach for guests of the lodge with a private dock for your use, beautiful trails and sitting areas on the 2.5 acres of land.  If you are a fisherman like my husband, bring your rod and enjoy the award-winning fishing.

The kid’s favourite part was a mix of running to the incredible sauna and roasting smores around the fire.  Let me note, this is probably the only sauna I have ever seen that has a window in it with an incredible view of Harrison Lake which makes you feel like you’re surrounded by nature.  This new wood barrel sauna is available for all of the guests who stay at the Lodge on Harrison Lake and is locally sourced, Select Tight Knot Western Red Cedar.

What To Do In Harrison

Muddy Water’s Cafe

Although Harrison Hot Springs’s population is only about 1500 people, there is so much to do!  We stopped in at the local Muddy Water restaurant compliments of Harrison Lake Lodge for breakfast and for lunch.  All meals were absolutely delicious and the staff is so friendly.  From the fresh mountain air and views to the farm-to-table food, it’s a must-try.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Harrison

Cozied up right next door to the Muddy Water’s cafe is The family-run Rocky Mountain Chocolate Harrison.  Trust me when I say, you MUST go!  From smores to fudge, to the most amazing Carmel apples I’ve ever had to just all the fresh chocolate, you can’t miss it.  Especially if you are bringing your kiddos!

Black Forest Resteraunt 

This family-owned restaurant serves up delicious authentic German food.  You will find on the menu steak and schnitzel specialties.  They have options and substitutes for most allergies plus a really delicious Children’s menu which was a bonus for our family vacation.

Harrison Eco Tours 

Harrison Eco Tours offers a great variety of wildlife tours, jet boat tours, guided kayaking and guided hiking.  As a family, we took the girls on the Eagle Watching Tour compliments of Tourism Harrison.  This scenic jet boat tour takes guests down the Harrison River to the mid-river where the largest congregation of Bald Eagles gathers.  The crisp green glacier-fed water is such a sight to see.  The tour only lasts about 1.5 hours which makes it totally tolerable for the little ones.  Also, the boat is all for bringing snacks and beverages so that’s a pro when bringing the kids.
